The idea for Iris (formerly known as Brown Eyed Girl) all started when Elizabeth Erin's friend Annie asked her to do an AIM icon for her with the text "Brown Eyed Girl" and some eyes on it. Elizabeth Erin talked to Annie and another friend about starting a clique with all three of them being co-presidents. Elizabeth Erin ended up being the only one with the time to put into the clique so she ran it for a long time.

In September 2002, Elizabeth Erin gave the clique to Rachel.
